Art Meets Decor

Art at Bay Decor will be a curated showcase of local artists, hosted within the Bay Decor showroom in Plettenberg Bay from 25 September - 4 October. The exhibition will bring together a selection of local artworks displayed throughout the showroom, creating a dialogue between art, interiors and everyday living. Rather than presenting the work within a traditional gallery environment, the exhibition will allow visitors to experience the artwork within a beautifully curated interior space, surrounded by furniture, fabrics, objects and design.

The intention is to celebrate the diverse creative talent of the Plett and Garden Route community and provide local artists with an additional platform to exhibit their work during the Plett Arts Festival. Visitors will be invited to browse the exhibition at their own pace, discover the artists behind the work and engage with pieces in an informal and accessible setting. Bay Decor already has an established relationship with local artists and regularly incorporates art into its showroom and interior projects.

The festival provides an opportunity to expand on this by creating a dedicated celebration of local creativity and bringing art to an audience that may not necessarily visit a traditional gallery. The exhibition will be open to the public throughout the festival period, with artworks available for viewing and purchase. Our vision is to create a warm, inspiring space where art and design meet, while celebrating the creativity, individuality and sense of place that make Plettenberg Bay and the Garden Route such a vibrant artistic community.

Bay Decor is a family-run interiors and design business based in Plettenberg Bay, with a long-standing connection to the local creative community.

Established over three decades ago, Bay Decor specialises in bespoke furniture, upholstery, curtains, blinds, rugs and carefully curated decor, while also supporting and showcasing the work of local makers and artists. With our showroom and workshop situated in Plettenberg Bay, we see our space as more than a place to shop.

It is a place where people can experience design, creativity and craftsmanship, and where local artists can connect with a wider audience. For the Plett Arts Festival, Bay Decor will open its doors as a dedicated space for showcasing the work of selected local artists.

The exhibition will bring together art and interiors in an informal, welcoming environment, allowing visitors to experience artworks within a lived and designed setting. Our aim is to celebrate the creative talent of Plettenberg Bay and the surrounding Garden Route, while creating opportunities for artists to gain exposure, connect with the community and potentially reach new collectors.
