David Kantey Art Workshop

Bookings are essential and limited to 10 people. For this workshop artists are to bring one of their own paintings in progress. They will use their own materials to continue to work on the painting and they will get practical real-time guidance from David.

ABOUT DAVID KANTEY

ART: David began his art career as an apprentice in the growing Batik business of the successful Simran Batik community of artists, and over the next 15 years created beautiful popular whale and dolphin imagery. In 2002, he made the successful transition to oil and acrylic paints, and has been working in these mediums for the last 20 years at his studio/gallery in The Tides estate, right on the water's edge of the Keurbooms Lagoon, Plettenberg Bay. His earlier works were very accurate realism: Landscapes, seascapes, wildlife, and animal portraits on commission.

David has a constant demand for his works - locally, nationally, and internationally - and a large part of these sales are commissioned works. His works are modern, colourful, semi-abstract sea and landscapes, with a very strong emphasis on light, textures and fine detail. He is constantly striving creatively to grow his arts expression and the phases of this growth always challenge his skills and vision over the years, earning him a solid reputation as a premier fine artist.

ABOUT THE VENUE:

Kwendalo is a holistic wellness centre, country estate and centre for learning in Plettenberg Bay, South Africa. Cultivating balanced living through six key dimensions of wellness: physical, emotional, spiritual, mental, social and environmental, the estate offers a variety of wellness treatments, retreats, and classes addressing a balanced and holistic approach to wellness, including homoeopathic consultations, yoga, nourishment, ozone therapy, reflexology, and a number of detox retreat programmes.
